Gunfight rages in Anantnag district

Srinagar, October 25:(GNS) Gunfight rages in Kharpora area of Arwani of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district this Thrusday afternoon.

Reports reaching GNS said that a joint team of army and SOG launched a search operation in Kharpora on a specific information about presence of some militants in the area.

As soon as goverment forces zeroed on to suspected house the hiding militants fired upon goverment forces triggering an encounter.

A senior Police officer told GNS that contact has been established with the hiding militants and exchange of firing is on.(GNS)
